Kitty Hat

Saturday is approaching, which means.... NEW DOCTOR WHO SEASON IS ALMOST HERE!!!

I am extremely excited to see what Peter Capaldi has in store for us. In the meantime, I have been studying up on my Doctor Who via Netflix. Knitting projects seem to fly by when you have the Doctor to keep you company. While watching, I was working on this kitty hat, which I completed just today. Now whenever I look at it I will think of souffles.

I would definitely say that it is my most successful hat attempt so far. Next up I will be tackling a Totoro version of this hat. I've not done much color-changing projects in the past, so this should be nice and challenging. Especially since I don't plan on using a pattern. We shall see whether it turns out nicely!

Adventures in Europe

Hello! This is Elli writing. Normally my mom makes the posts on this blog, but I have decided to take over. I have returned from my trip to Europe. Thank you so much to everyone who helped to get me there! I am deeply grateful and I couldn't have done it without you.

Whilst travelling, I learned a lot about the countries I visited, and took extensive notes in the glorious journal that my friend Erika gave me. I thought I would share a few random tidbits that I picked up with you.

The Tower of London was once used to house all the royal animals.

In France, some people drink their coffee out of bowls. This allows them to more easily dunk their baguette bread in their coffee.

Water fountains are very uncommon in Europe. I did not encounter a single water fountain during my entire stay.

I already knew that the Belgians were the first to make French fries, but I learned that they are also fond of eating fries with mayonnaise.

70% of transportation in Amsterdam is done by bicycle. No one uses helmets or bike locks in the Netherlands.

The word "clothes" is extremely hard for non-English people to pronounce.

The Heidelberg castle in Germany contains a "vomitorium" where people used to go during feasts so they could make room for more food.

I hope you enjoyed these quick little notes. I've decided to take up the hobby of blogging, so stay tuned for more posts in the near future! :) Here are a few more pictures of my adventures:
